Reactive energy compensation: capacitor banks for halls, hotels and commercial buildings
The reactive energy penalty is the only line on the bill that completely disappears with an investment that pays for itself in a few months.

Motors, compressors, air conditioning, ballasted lighting: inductive consumers draw from the network reactive energy, which the distributor bills separately, with a penalty, when the power factor drops below the allowed limit. Many administrators pay for months without knowing what that line on the bill is.
GreenSoft measures the power factor and consumption profile, sizes and installs capacitor banks automatic, with steps controlled by a regulator and, where there are harmonics, with detuning coils that protect the capacitors. The result is seen on the next invoice: the penalty disappears, and the transformers and cables work with less load.
For buildings with many harmonic sources (variable speed drives, UPSs, LEDs), we analyze the power quality before sizing, so that the battery does not fail in the first year.
What does the service include?
- Bill analysis and power factor and harmonic measurements
- Sizing of the stepped capacitor bank with automatic regulator
- Batteries with detuning coils for networks with harmonics
- Mounting in a dedicated panel or cabinet, with protections and ventilation
- Checking the result on the invoice and periodic maintenance
Why GreenSoft
The capacitor bank is in the overall picture that we create and is linked to the metering and BMS that we manage. We size based on actual measurements, not estimates, and we track the next invoice to confirm that the penalty has disappeared.
How the project is progressing
- Analysis of invoices from recent months and on-site measurements
- Sizing and quote with the amortization term calculated on your invoice
- Installation, commissioning and adjustment of the controller
- Checking the next invoice and maintenance schedule
For what types of goals
- Production halls and workshops
- hotels and restaurants
- office buildings and shopping centers
- clinics and hospitals
- pumping stations
- public institutions
Send us your last three energy bills; we'll tell you the same day how much you pay per reagent and how many months the compensation will be amortized.
Where we work
We cover the entire county of Constanta — the municipality of Constanta, Mamaia, Năvodari, Ovidiu, Agigea, Eforie, Techirghiol, Mangalia, Medgidia and Cernavodă — including the port perimeter, based on the license to work in the Port of Constanta. For larger works, we travel throughout Dobrogea.

Frequently asked questions
How do I see on my bill if I am paying reactive energy?
Look for the line "reactive energy" or "power factor penalty." If it appears with a value, you need compensation; if you're not sure, send us your bill and we'll read it.
How long does it take to pay off?
For most halls and hotels, within 6-18 months, depending on the penalty and the size of the battery. We calculate the exact term on your invoices, before the quote.
Does the capacitor bank need maintenance?
Annual inspection of capacitors, contactors and ventilation; capacitor capacity decreases over time and steps are replaced as needed. We include it in the electrical maintenance contract.
Why did the old battery fail after a year?
Usually due to harmonics in the network, which overload the capacitors. We measure the harmonics in advance and, where necessary, install batteries with detuning coils.
Shall we discuss your project?
